What is this about?

Welcome to my “about” page! I’m glad you’re here! I’m Marianne and I’m happy to meet you. Don’t be shy now and leave a comment to let me know you were here.

On this blog, Grandeurvision, you’ll find ramblings about my journey to a meaningful life; a grander, magnificent life with a deeper meaning than what I was living.

On the physical level, I live with chronic pain and inflammation caused by a severe autoimmune disease called Rheumatoid Arthritis. It’s a challenge to live with the effects of this painful debilitating disease. Sometimes it’s been a challenge to keep going, blogging helps with this. I’ve found that medical help is limited, but does help somewhat. I pursue other forms of healing as well including, naturopathy, TCM, homeopathy, herbs, prayer, inner work and various forms of energy healing. My research into healing modalities and personal transformation is extensive and I haven’t exhausted all possibilities.

I blog about my experiences and I share information that I find helpful and inspiring. Every year I set an intention to make this year the best ever (according to my personal definition of “best year ever”). So far it’s working.

  1. I’m glad to have met the wonderful woman described in this little bio. And I’m excited to see what she creates in 2010!

To borrow some further words of encouragement on this journey…
“If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it. If you don’t ask, the answer is always no. If you don’t step forward, you’re always in the same place.” (Nora Roberts)

  2. Marianne,
Thank you so much for reading OlderBrothersAdvice. Thank you even more for blog rolling it. And finally, thank you the MOST for writing your blog. Your blog is exactly the cross section between modernity and healthy psychological exigence.
Please keep it up and I look so forward to keeping up with your gorgeous rants!

  3. Marianne, I wish you well on your quest to find effective pain relief. My joints ache more and more these days, so i know how you must feel! Best, Matt

  4. Very cool blog! And you seem more technically adept than me! I’m not even sure how to put the facebook / twitter icons on my blog. Is that something you added or did it come with the theme?

    • Hi Jacqueline,

Thanks for stopping by. If you want to add sharing buttons, click on the settings feature on your dashboard then select “sharing”. It will take you to a screen where you can drag and drop the features you want to use. I just selected everything there was. Have no idea what they’re all about yet. (hehe)

  5. For someone who identifies as “technically challenged”, you’ve done an amazing job on this blog! Not just its look, either, but its energy. It has been a long time since I last saw you, but I can feel the “Marianne vibe”, and it makes me smile!

  6. This is a wonderful blog and you can tell that each post comes from the heart and covers universal themes. They are inspiring, thought-provoking and candid. Subscribed.

  7. Hi, nice to find you. Thanks for visiting Source of Inspiration and leaving bread crumbs for me to follow. I look forward to reading more of your posts. hugs, pat
